Nottingham RFC’s hooker Tom Woolrich was involved in an incident at a match against Esher in February 2003, which left him a tetraplegic. He has had huge support from Nottingham RFC management and players, resulting in the launch of a calendar for 2004 when the lads stripped off.
Tom is now back at work four days a week, with the company that has supported him magnificently throughout this time and is planning the alterations to the bungalow that has been purchased. Tom is currently supported by Aspire
The recently well publicised serious injury to Matt Hampson is the most recent addition to those receiving donations from the Benevolent Fund. Matt is a young prop forward from Leicester Tigers who suffered a serious neck injury whilst at England Under-21 training in March. Matt is currently recovering from his injuries at Stoke Mandeville Hospital Matt remains on a ventilator and is paralysed from the neck down. However, he continues to show great courage. Matt is currently supported by the Matt Hampson Trust.
